Content Management Systems:

Content management system (CMS) are becoming extremely popular day by day. To understand why they are suitable for your website, you must understand the advantages and disadvantages of this system.

What is a content management system (CMS)?

As the name suggests it is a system built to manage the content of your website. Meaning, it is a system that has content displayed on your website like text and images. You can then manage the content and change where you want the content to show.

Why use a content management system (CMS)?

CMS is the easiest way to manage and update a website without knowing a word of scripting. Most clients love the concept because it is as easy as using any word processing software. Another great feature of having a CMS is that it's online, so you do not have to be at your office computer to update your website. You can update content sitting anywhere in the world. All you need is access to the internet on a computer, iPhone or any other smart phone.  You can upload or simply copy and paste new content that you have typed in a word document. This makes it a perfect solution for most companies online.

There are different kinds of content management system (CMS).

Database managed: Files are stored in a database, therefore needs a database. An advantage to having such a system is that the site can handle large amounts of content.

Custom CMS: These are custom made CMSs for the client, tailored specially for the client's needs.
